Carbohydrates give you energy, healthy fats and fiber keep you full longer, and protein keeps you energized. Add the following ingredients to your smoothies to maximize your weight loss potential and increase the protein, healthy fats and fiber in the recipe.

A source of healthy fats and omega-3s, hemp seeds also add protein. One 60-calorie tablespoon contains 3.3 grams of protein, 0.8 grams of omega-3 (the daily recommendation is 1.1 grams), 0.7 grams of fiber and just 0.7 grams of carbohydrates.
