Last month, Encompass Health Richardson’s Diversity and Inclusion committee invited Dr. Tate, our new medical director, to talk about Gender Equality/Women’s History Month, which is happening in March. She spoke of her journey navigating drugs as a black woman growing up in a small Mississippi town. She highlights the struggles of distinguishing herself as a woman with big aspirations, balancing work-family life, getting into medical school during Hurricane Katrina, finding a mentor who went through a similar experience as hers and more! We are happy to host this event.

After three stays at Encompass Health and approximately 60 days in and out of the hospital, we are so proud to see Melissa Bosworth go home today to go home to her family. Pictured with her: Wound Care Coordinator, Alyssa Harris, who was actively involved in her care and education throughout her stay. Congratulations Melissa!
