Healthy Chipotle Bowl For Weight Loss

Healthy Chipotle Bowl For Weight Loss – Even if you’re not a huge taco or burrito fan, you’ve probably stopped at Chipotle once or twice. The chain has more than 2,000 branches and is known to emphasize real ingredients without the addition of colors, flavors, preservatives and GMOs. He  is also well known for making burritos bigger than his face.

Since you cook your own food at Chipotle, it’s easy to load up on a burrito and put yourself back over 1,000 calories without realizing it. But because you’re in the driver’s seat, it’s also easier for you to make healthier decisions. For example, pass on the flour tortilla by buying a burrito bowl and save 320 calories from the get-go.

Each of these options is under 450 calories, so you can satisfy your Mexican food cravings without going overboard.

Healthy Chipotle Shrimp Burrito Bowls

Why it’s up: This bowl fills you with 300 calories, 17 grams of protein and 12 grams of fiber.

RD Tip: Skipping rice saves you over 200 calories and about 40 grams of carbs. If you want to add some hearty creaminess without breaking the bank on calories, ask for guac on the side. Fill the bowl half full for an extra 115 calories and 11 grams of healthy fat, and save the rest for a snack the next day.

Why it happened: Meat eaters have options. This bowl contains 29 grams of saturated protein and 6 grams of fiber for 430 calories.

RD Tip: If you want a flavorful, tender meat, go for barbacoa over carnitas. Barbacoa is made with a leaner cut of meat, so you’ll save about 40 calories and 5 grams of saturated fat. Barbacoa is also more seasoned than carnitas, so you get a boost of flavor without having to add high-calorie condiments.

RD Tip: Opt for corn tortillas instead of flour to save 40 calories and 7 grams of fat, then make tacos with a lean protein like chicken and plenty of fiber-rich plant-based toppings. The fajita veggies and salad add bulk, and the tomatillo salsa adds enough flavor to keep you satisfied without adding too many calories.

Why it won: This salad satisfies your cravings for hearty red meat and cheese with tons of flavor, 11 grams of fiber, and 33 grams of filling protein—all for less than 400 calories!

RD Tip: Starting with a vegetable base gives you more room to add toppings. Filling your salad with lean protein, like black beans or grilled steak, will keep you full while still leaving some room for cheese or guacamole. To cut even more calories, opt for a half serving of cheese to cut 55 calories and 4 grams of fat, and use spicy red chili salsa as a dressing instead of vinaigrette to save 190 calories and 16 grams of fat.

If you use this recipe to make a meal, I recommend keeping the meal components separate. Keep the rice in one container and the chicken and stuffing in separate containers. This will help keep everything fresh.

To reheat these bowls, simply heat them in the microwave until piping hot. You can also reheat them in a pan over medium heat if you prefer.

Burrito bowls will keep in the refrigerator for up to four days. However, the avocado and tomatoes will begin to brown after a day or two. If you want to extend the life of these ingredients, I recommend storing them separately from the rest of the dish. Remember to add a little acid to the avocado (lemon or lime juice) to prevent browning.

You can freeze rice, corn, black beans, and chicken with this recipe. I don’t recommend freezing avocados or tomatoes as they don’t keep well. If you want to add them to a dish, I recommend adding them fresh when you’re ready to eat them.

Cauliflower Rice Burrito Bowls

This is a great recipe for a weekly meal prep. You can prepare both the chicken and rice up to 4 days ahead of time and use them cold to assemble the protein bowl. This is a great option for weeknight dinners.

These bowls are perfect because they are a whole meal in themselves. If you’re really hungry, you can easily add extra rice or serve it with a flatbread.

There are a few things you can do to keep your chicken moist. Be sure to marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes first, but up to 24 hours if you have the time. This will help flavor the meat and keep it moist. Second, make sure the chicken is not overcooked. It should be fried, but at the same time juicy. Finally, let the chicken rest for at least five minutes before slicing. This will help preserve the juices in the meat.

This Chicken Burrito Bowl is one of my favorite meals because it’s a great recipe to throw together with leftovers in your fridge or Taco Tuesday leftovers. It’s full of healthy and fresh ingredients and is fully customizable. I hope you enjoy them!
