Healthy Meal Prep Ideas For Weight Loss

When I worked in Mexico a few years ago, I fell in love with the food. But my body….yes it loved food too and it showed in the two sizes I was sneaking up on while working there. Oh, but the food was delicious.

Looking back, I know that food was comforting. To fill the void. I had traveled a long way across the country after graduating from college. Although I had close friendships and socialized with other U.S. people. transplants that worked with me in the production area, it was not like having my friends and family around. So was the food!

Food fills an emotional void for many people. As part of my affiliate program I work with people to fill this gap. I talk specifically about overcoming this because often the 1:1 clients I coach don’t realize how they are using food to feed the missing ingredient in their lives. It is difficult to overcome, but the key is to bring awareness to the behavior.

All of that is to say that food is fuel and nourishment for the body, and just because you like to eat a certain food doesn’t mean you have to give it up! It just means you need to find healthy versions of them!

Divide food into 4 meal prep containers so that lunch or dinner can be portioned in advance and for the week. This makes eating so much easier when you don’t have to think about measuring or portioning. Serve them over chopped lettuce, vegetables of your choice or cauliflower rice.

These turkey taco dishes are made Paleo, but if you’re not strictly Paleo you can add quinoa, rice or beans to the meal for healthy carbs. Although I like the basics of the Paleo diet, I often find people who do not eat enough carbohydrates and they are needed in a healthy diet.
