The past 3 months have gone by and (spoiler alert) I have loved every day of the keto diet and it has helped me lose weight and feel AMAZING.

Before I get into more detail about the 3 Month Ketogenic Diet Weight Loss Update, here’s a reminder of my experience to date:

I have lost a total of 10.4kg / 22lbs in 3 months and, although the weight loss has been slow this month with a loss of 2.5kg, I am happy that I am living in the right way. Slowly but surely. I believe this way of eating is a marathon, not a sprint. (Well, for me at least.)

And, it’s important not to compare your Ketogenic Diet Weight Loss to others. We all lose weight at different rates, so it can be discouraging when you see and hear about low carb weight loss that happens so fast and the weight loss is HUGE.

I believe that losing weight slowly gives your body time to catch up. I feel like I’m losing weight in a healthy way and, most importantly, it’s fun and sustainable in the long run.

I can’t tell you how many diets I’ve been on in the past when I lost weight quickly, went “off” the diet and then put it all back on. (With luck!) I don’t have to say “I can’t wait to eat

Again” feeling because this way of eating feels normal to me. I wouldn’t want to go back to the way I was eating and feel as bad as I felt.

That is another aspect of food. Besides moderation, I have enjoyed many other health benefits which I attribute to this diet. There have been some health benefits as well – more energy than I can remember, my teeth are healthy (and a recent visit to the dentist for a check-up didn’t hurt as much as it used to) plus my periods feel “healthier. “- I need some pain killers to get through the first few days and they are even lighter.

The big change this month is that I have stopped counting calories/macros correctly. I got into the process of food, having such breakfasts/lunch/dinner/snacks/desserts. (Check out low-carb cooking classes online for recipe inspiration.)

So, I think it’s not important for me to record every morsel I eat, as I can easily measure the carb count of a meal and aim for low carbs/little fat/moderate protein.

I feel it is important for me to get comfortable with eating sensibly rather than relying on a trainer, so that I can continue losing and eventually maintaining this way of eating with ease.
