How A Low Carb Diet Might Aid People With Type 1 Diabetes

Sometimes, when you live with diabetes, you need to be able to rely on healthy carbohydrates. Simple carb diabetes foods are a great tool to have in your diabetes management tool.

A low carb diet for diabetes is not necessary. It can certainly be done, but if that’s not the way you want to go, you really don’t have to. There are times when you may need to rely on low carbs or options (such as less) but that doesn’t mean you have to do it all the time. Whether you follow a high-carb diet for type 2 diabetes or a low-carb diet for type 1 diabetes should be a decision you discuss with your doctor and/or diabetes care provider.

Have you ever heard the term “good carbs”? If you have, the difference is that it shows good carbon. This is also sometimes called “good carb”, although I really don’t like that phrase. (I’m not a fan of labeling foods as good or bad.) These types of carbohydrates are very complex and take a long time for the body to break down. This means they are less likely to cause blood sugar spikes after eating them. While low in carbs, most of the following recipes also contain good carbs.
