Low Carb Low Sugar Diet Meal Plan – Dieting to lose weight can feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. You just need a plan. Knowing what to eat, when and how to properly plan your meals for the week sets you up for success. The plan I’m sharing today follows a 1,200 calorie weight loss plan.

1,200 calories doesn’t sound like much. If you’re eating a typical American diet there’s a good chance you’re eating more than that. But if you’re careful about what you eat, it can actually make you happier, even more than eating mountains of unhealthy, low-nutrient foods.

When you choose foods that are high in protein and fat and low in carbohydrates, you get fewer calories per meal. But lean protein and healthy fats will still leave you feeling full after you eat.

Budget Friendly Low Carb Recipes

A low carb diet – which can mean a LOT of different things. But in general, that means less than 150 grams of carbohydrates per day.

Beans are higher in carbohydrates than other foods. Try to get all the carbohydrates you eat from high-fiber foods instead. This means you are getting extra nutrients on the side of carbs. Grains include whole grains such as bread, rice, pasta, and quinoa, but also include starchy vegetables such as beans, peas, corn, sweet potatoes, and potatoes.

A simple change like swapping brown rice for brown rice may be good for some measurements, but it won’t make a difference to your overall score. Other changes need to be made. One thing vegetarians should also be aware of is that making your own protein contains carbs, things like black beans or veggie burger patties. So you need to look at your macros differently to reduce carbs.

The most important habit in winning and losing weight is the eating plan. This doesn’t need to be difficult, and it’s a great way to set you up to stick to calories. (you can read my weight loss story here)

Day No Sugar Challenge And Meal Plan (gluten Free)

Most mornings, I’ll sit down with MyFitnessPal and plug in the food I’m going to eat for the day, until the calories and macros come out to match my goals.

This week, my goals were to set a daily goal of 1200 calories with high protein, and low carbs. A small portion of fat comes naturally, because I like foods that contain less fat.

Low calorie diets have been shown to result in weight loss, despite the spread of macros. However, for these 1200 calories it is high in protein, low in carbs, and low in fat, totaling: 1151/153 g protein, 86 g carbs, 16 g fat. If you’re counting macros, that’s roughly: 55% protein, 30% carbs, and 15% fat.

When I create a calorie-restricted meal plan, I plan the meals so that the calories are lower, rather than higher. I go below the recommended calorie intake for a few reasons.

Foods To Avoid (or Limit) On A Low Carb Diet

For one, it’s hard to get accurate measurements of the calories in the foods you eat. Different devices, different reporting methods, and different products vary in calorie content.

But the biggest reason the plan is under 1200 calories is because there are so many things we eat that often go unnoticed. Bites, chips, sauces, vegetables, vitamins, nuts, and sugar-free foods actually pack calories.

So, at the end of the day, you’ll probably be around 1200 calories, even if you think you’re eating less.

After eating my meal plan, I went through a little bit of fruit and veg each day to add more meals, but keep the calories and macros constant.

While I like variety in my diet, I don’t like to have different foods for each meal. I will only change my meal plan weekly, rather than daily. It’s not too expensive that way!
