Signature Healthcare – Five Star Ratings can be a source in choosing a centerpiece, but they don’t always tell the full story.
For example, Jefferson Manor is currently a one-star center and the rating is based on a shortfall that occurred in 2017, more than three years ago. Since then, Signature Healthcare at Jefferson Manor has had only one complaints survey that found one minor problem. Due to the current pandemic the annual health check was discontinued which means the previous survey from 2017 remains which is the only reason we continue to be one star overall today. When the survey process reopens, our star rating will increase. Our Quality Measures, which look at different clinical metrics and our staffing, are both three stars.

This pandemic has brought many challenges to nursing homes and one that has become the focus of the news is infection control. Jefferson Manor has had five Infection Control Surveys and five emergency preparedness surveys since the start of the pandemic, and we were found to be flawlessly compliant, in each of these surveys! That is a significant achievement given our current situation that we all face today. A 100% Deficiency Free Survey demonstrates that all services provided at our Jefferson Manor facility meet or exceed all state and federal standards and that the overall facility environment is at the highest level required and, in some cases, exceeds those requirements. The CMS state survey included interviews, observations, and a review of records and policies.

Bottom line, amenities are often more than star ratings. Don’t think that a five star rating tells the whole story, because you can easily miss a fantastic build! Jefferson Manor is one of many that has an even greater story to tell, with a dedicated group of individuals who give their heart and soul every day!
