I have included this weight loss smoothie recipe in many of my client’s meal plans and it helps promote healthy weight loss in conjunction with a balanced diet!

It all depends on what’s in your smoothie! Since smoothies come in many combinations and sizes, there are some that will definitely support weight loss in your weight loss journey, while others may not. It also depends on your own personal dietary needs, but I think smoothies can be a great part of a healthy weight loss plan.

This means no added sugar from sweetened juice or other refined sugar sources. Whole fruits and small amounts of natural sweeteners (maple syrup, dates or honey) are perfect and healthy ways to help your sweet tooth without loading up on processed sugars.

Since smoothies are often fruit-forward, protein is also important to help balance out the carbohydrates in the fruit. The protein supports muscle recovery and building for better body composition. This can be peanut butter, almond butter, pea protein, cashew butter, plant-based protein or vanilla protein powder, all of which can help provide good protein in your drink.
