The common ingredients in all my smoothies are bananas, avocados, almonds, dates, and oats. These add a very creamy and smooth texture to the smoothie and also have many health benefits.

From the specified amount of ingredients, we get a glass of milkshake, and it will be really filling and tasty!

All you need is cocoa powder, bananas, yogurt raisins, almonds, dates, avocado and cinnamon. (optionally add oats for extra carbs and fiber)

Place all ingredients in a blender with ice cubes and cold water and blend until smooth and creamy.

You can also serve these milkshakes to children. The sweets from fruits, dates and nuts are more than enough for my family and me, since we don’t like sweets too much in the morning. For any added sweetness, you can add honey or other natural sweeteners like maple syrup, stevia, etc. or nut butter or even whole milk.

Delicious Weight Loss Smoothies

The past few weeks have been very busy for us! We had a wonderful family vacation in Hawaii for the first time. When we got home, the very next day I started preparing my classroom and my plans for the new school year. As a teacher, the start of school is so crazy and I always forget how much more needs to be done to get the year off to a smooth start! It feels even more rushed this year as I will only be teaching for four weeks before going on maternity leave.

This week I’m having my Back to School night and getting my own kids back into the school routine. We increased the bedtime, bought school supplies, and now it’s time to think about children’s lunches and make it regular every night so that our mornings go smoothly.

Making sure my kids have a healthy breakfast is always a challenge on school mornings. There isn’t a lot of time to cook and I like them to have a balance of carbs and protein to fuel them in the morning.

My kids can be picky, but I can always count on them to drink a milkshake. We love smoothies, and a quick blog search will turn up many of our favorite healthy smoothies. This oatmeal smoothie is a good choice for breakfast because it has a good mix of whole grains, fiber, and protein.

I like to add frozen mango to smoothies, because it becomes pleasantly creamy. A little banana adds sweetness. Sometimes I make this smoothie with frozen strawberries, and other times I use blueberries, depending on what I have in my freezer. Julia prefers it with strawberry and William’s favorite is blueberry. But no matter which one I use, they both always finish their smoothies!

You can use any kind of milk. Most of the time, we make children’s milkshakes from whole milk. If I make it myself, I use unsweetened almond milk.
